Clarifying User Queries and Enhancing
Functionality:
Hello BlockDAG X1
Community,
Today, our team has been diligently addressing
several queries from our end users, particularly those related to the referral
system and mining rates. We want this dev release to target the confusions among the
end users and give them a confusion free journey to the mining
application.
Referral Status Clarifications:
We noticed some
confusion regarding the status symbols in the Groups module. Here’s a breakdown of
the status symbols and their meanings:
- Active: The user is registered and actively mining.
- Inactive: The user is registered but has not started mining.
- Pending: The user is yet to get registered with us.
This clarification should help users understand their referral statuses better.
Currently, "Active" indicated a user is registered but might not have started
mining. But soon in this coming week we'll push the latest build with the above
mentioned status symbols. We'll now introduce the "Inactive" status to clearly
differentiate between those who are registered but not mining and those who are
actively mining.
Mining Rate Explanation:
Another area of
confusion was the mining rate. To clarify:
- The base mining rate is 0.8 BDAG coins per hour.
- Each active referral adds 0.2 BDAG coins per hour to the mining rate.
For example, if a user refers 10 people and 5 out of those 10 are
active, the mining rate for that user will be: 0.8+(0.2×5)=1.8 BDAG coins per
hour0.8 + (0.2 \times 5) = 1.8 \text{ BDAG coins per hour}0.8+(0.2×5)=1.8 BDAG coins
per hour
Technical Update:
Last night, we faced an issue
with the OTP system, which was quickly resolved as it was due to a third-party
service disruption.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work
through these issues. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and transparent experience for
all our users.
Blockchain Explorer Internal Demo and Feedback
Today, we conducted our scheduled internal demo for the Blockchain Explorer, and we
received some valuable feedback and suggestions from the team. Here’s a summary of
the key points and proposed changes:
Design and
Responsiveness:
- Improved Layout: Some suggestions focused on enhancing the overall layout to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. We will be refining the placement of key elements to ensure a smoother navigation experience.
- Responsive Design: It was noted that the explorer's responsiveness could be further optimized, particularly on mobile devices. We plan to adjust the CSS and implement media queries to enhance the user experience across all screen sizes.
- Color Scheme Adjustments: A few recommendations were made to tweak the color scheme for better readability and visual appeal. We will be experimenting with different shades and contrasts to achieve this.
- Loading Indicators: Adding subtle loading indicators was
suggested to improve user feedback during data fetch operations. This will help
users understand when data is being processed or loaded.
Minor Technical Changes:
- API Optimization: To enhance performance, we'll optimize API calls for quicker data retrieval and reduced latency.
- Cache Implementation: Introducing caching mechanisms to store frequently accessed data can improve load times and reduce server load.
- Database Indexing: We'll review and enhance database indexing to ensure faster query execution and data retrieval.
- Error Handling: Improving error handling to provide more informative messages to users and better debugging information for developers.
- Security Enhancements: Implementing additional security
measures, such as rate limiting and enhanced input validation, to protect
against potential threats.
Next Steps:
Based on the feedback, we’ll be making the following
minor changes to the Blockchain Explorer:
- Refine the UI Layout: We’ll adjust the positions of certain elements to improve accessibility and user flow.
- Enhance Mobile Responsiveness: Our team will focus on optimizing the explorer for mobile devices to ensure a seamless experience.
- Adjust Color Scheme: We’ll test and implement slight changes in the color palette to enhance readability and aesthetics.
- Add Loading Indicators: Implementing visual cues to indicate data loading will be prioritized to keep users informed about ongoing processes.
- Resolving the technical challenges as well.
These enhancements aim to deliver a more polished and user-friendly Blockchain Explorer. We appreciate the constructive feedback from our team and are excited to implement these changes.
